Database search

Retrieve songs information from lastfm or musicbrainz sites. It is also possible to do a direct search with the mbid value (ex. "c879b2d8-20da-4b6c-bbdd-c933aa1bef3c" in the "album" field will find Wasting Light of Foo Fighters

Automatic tag

Tag files using the tracks retrieved from internet database content.
Besides the standard tag action by item's order, it is also possible to tag files by matching an item's field with filename.
There are two kind of matching:

tag by name Tag by matching name

Tag file using match track name <<>> filename

For example, "Thriller.mp3" will matches item "Thriller" instead of "Human nature"

tag by position Tag by matching position

Tag file using match track position <<>> filename

For example, "Beat it" is the track #07 of the album Thriller. If the folder contains a file named "Track 7.mp3" or "Track 07.mp3" or "07 Track.mp3" the tag will be applied on the file.

Manually tag the selected files with the input set by the user on the tag panel.
Unchecked fields will be ignored.

Rename

Rename

Rename all selected files or the working folder using a specific pattern.

There is also a list of all available patterns.

For example, pattern "%p - %t" will rename the file with "position - title".mp3

Modern Audio Tagger is bundled with the relative application shell called UMTaggerShell.exe which is into the installation folder.

This window help generating the right command line by setting all the values needed for the desired action
